Riaz Shahid was born into a humble family in a small village near Sialkot, Pakistan. In 1980, driven by the desire to build a better future, he moved to Karachi in search of opportunities. Life in the city was not easy. Coming from a background of limited means, he initially took up labor work to support himself. However, he was determined to rise above his circumstances.
Despite the financial challenges, Riaz was deeply committed to his education. Through sheer hard work and perseverance, he managed to complete his Master’s degree in Political Science—a remarkable achievement given the odds he faced.
In 1983, he took a bold step and started his own small trading business, which he named Riaz Traders. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication soon helped the business grow and earn respect within the local community.

Later, in the year 2000, Riaz Shahid, along with his close friend and elder, Polus Sharif, ventured into a new initiative. They founded a faith-based enterprise called Gospel Printing Press, with a vision to serve the Christian community by publishing religious literature and spreading the message of the Gospel. The press became a meaningful and successful venture.
After a few years of running the printing press, Riaz decided to hand over the business responsibilities to his son. With a renewed calling in his heart, he enrolled in Bible school to pursue theological education. Upon completion, he was ordained as a minister and became the pastor in charge at the church in Abraham Town. His role as a pastor was marked by sincerity, compassion, and a deep sense of service to his congregation.
In his later years, Riaz traveled to the United States to visit his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. It was during this visit that he peacefully passed away in the Lord on the 26th of June, 2018, entering eternal rest after a life of faith, perseverance, and dedicated service.
